Winners at the MFL Speaking Competition

Huge congratulations to Jestine Bautista, Matt Rumson and Anisa Moulai who took part in a Modern Foreign Language speaking competition at Pilton Community College on Wednesday 9th March. The competition run by ‘Routes into Languages’ is open to students of secondary age from any South West school and will provide an opportunity for students to use their foreign language out of the classroom.

Jestine Bautista in the KS5 category presented in Spanish on the topic of Feminism and so impressed the judges with her language skills, excellent presentation and passion for the subject that she emerged the KS5 winner. Matt Rumson also wowed the audience and judges with his talk in Spanish about magic with a few tricks thrown in and was runner up. Both Jestine and Matt now go forward to compete in the regional final which will take place in Bristol in June.

Anisa Moulai, in her first MFL competition, took part in the KS4 category and gave a fantastic performance in French demonstrating her range of language and originality.

Well done to all.
