Updated Consent for CV-19 Testing
Updated: Feb 24
Dear Parent / Carer,
As the pandemic is ever-changing and rapidly doing so, so is the guidance set by the Government. Since we sent out our original consent form to you, updated guidance has come to us and we must, regrettably, ask you complete the new form. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we have been informed that we require further information from you.
Please follow the link below to complete the consent form.
We would encourage parents and students to give consent as we feel this is a way of keeping everyone in school as safe as we possibly can.
We appreciate there is some concern surrounding testing and we have worked hard to convey the process this will involve. Please see the attached video link to see how we conduct the process her at The Ilfracombe Academy.
We have completed the first round of testing on staff and, you will be pleased to hear that, all those that tested received negative results. Please be aware that we will be now be commencing the testing of children of critical workers who are in school on Friday 15th January. Their second test will be on Wednesday 20th January. Any of these students not due in on these days will be tested as soon as we can on their first day back in school after Friday. There will be a further plan of testing scheduled when the majority of our students return to school.
We are thankful for your patience during this time and grateful for the overwhelming offer of help from community volunteers.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant Head of Year or Pastoral Coordinator.
Mr Steve Rogers
