Results Day 2020
A Level and Level 3 Awards Thursday 13th August 2020
GCSE and Level 2 Vocational Thursday 20th August 2020
I hope this letter find you all well. We understand that students and their families will have found the end to the academic year really challenging and that many of the normal “rites of passage” for students have not been able to happen because of the lockdown. I thought I would write to you and let you know what our current thinking and planning is for Results Days, subject of course to the guidance that the government puts in place for schools as time moves on.
It is our intention at this point to hold socially distanced Results Days if we are allowed to do this. This would mean students coming on to the school site at prearranged times, observing hand hygiene rules and also bringing a face covering with them. We feel that with the space we have in our very large St Christopher’s Hall, combined with the fact that this space is really well ventilated and furthermore has covered space outside adjacent to it, that we could do this safely. We have held several socially distanced staff meetings in there very successfully and would like to be able to do the same for our students, unless specifically advised that we cannot do this. We will write with further details as they arrive from the Department for Education. We would like students to have the opportunity to discuss their results with members of the Senior Team if they wish to, and we will be available to discuss Sixth Form courses if that is relevant to you. There is a very large percentage of Year 11 students returning to the Sixth Form next year.
We will write with further details as they arrive from the Department for Education.
Regarding student’s grades they are now with external exam board moderators.
Best wishes to you and your families and please do not hesitate to contact s if you have any further questions.
