National Numeracy Day 2022
Wednesday 18th May is National Numeracy Day, the UK’s only day dedicated to everyday maths, organised by the charity National Numeracy.
It’s a day that celebrates the importance of numbers for children and adults and inspires everyone to improve their numeracy in order to open up opportunities and brighter futures.
We have lots of activities planned for your children to take part in at school within their maths lessons with a focus on maths in the real world, with the aim of helping them feel positive about numbers. There will also be some numeracy activities and videos via our social media platforms.
One of the best ways to support children to feel positive about numbers, is to feel confident yourself. National Numeracy has lots of free resources to help you support your children with numbers and to boost your numeracy too!
Please visit www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/numeracyday to find out more.
I have attached some resources with this letter from the website, including numeracy activities that you can complete as a family to encourage numeracy at home and also resources and activities to help around anxiety associated with numeracy for both students and parents.
We hope you all have a happy National Numeracy Day on 18 May.
As always if you have any further questions or would like further information, please contact me at the academy,
