Important Update - Manchester Football Trip
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has come to light today that there has been a clerical error with regards to the trip to Manchester City Champions League game. The error was caused by the tickets being released 12hrs earlier than they should have been. The school recognises this error and apologises profusely. This is a highly popular trip and as a result of the error, a number of families have had prior advantage of booking tickets when everyone was expecting the level playing field release time at 6pm.
In order to be in line with our values and showing integrity and fairness, we are therefore going to postpone the selection of tickets tonight at 6pm. Once again, for fairness, everyone who has secured a ticket will go into a draw. Their name will be taken as an expression of interest. All students that would like to go on this trip will go in to a live draw to be held at a date in the near future. We have changed the trip allocation on WEDUC to enable parents to sign an expression of interest without being charged the full amount. Anyone who has paid the full amount and doesn’t go on the trip will receive a full refund at the earliest opportunity.
We will then run a live-streamed event where the Chair of Governors will draw names out of a hat. We feel this is the only fair way they can go on a trip of a lifetime. We also feel that this is a process we need to follow for any high tariff trip going forwards like the Alton Towers trip during activities week and the Ski Trip.
We apologise for any distress that this has caused, but once again in order to show integrity, honesty and fairness, we feel that this is the only fair way to give everyone the opportunity for going on this trip.
The school will write to parents again on Monday to clarify these points and let everyone know exactly when the live event will take place.
Mr. Steve Rogers
