Year 13 Last Day
Time & Location
About the event
As you are aware, Year 13 students will be finishing their time at the academy at the end of this half term, on Friday 28th May. Unfortunately, due to the current covid-19 restrictions there are strict limitations on what events the school can put on to mark this occasion.
Nonetheless, after careful consideration that included students’ own inputs, we have decided to provide year 13 students with a sit-down, three-course meal on their final day. In addition to this meal there will be a leavers presentation including multiple student awards to recognise the achievements of students during their time with us in the Sixth Form. Finally, because all students will have completed their mock exams by the last day, we will be allowing year 13 students to finish the day early (at the end of their lunch).
Last day in school – Friday 28th May
Normal lessons P1-2 Leavers Assembly Free three-course meal Early finish (12.40pm)
In most normal years there would be a Year 13 leavers party following their exams. This is an event that is organised and run by the students themselves, and not by the staff at the academy (although a number of staff usually choose to attend to support the event). Unfortunately, due to the current covid-19 restrictions and uncertainty it has not been possible to arrange a Year 13 Leaver’s party this year. Should students wish to arrange a Leaver’s party at a later date that will be up to them.
Finally, I would like to stress again what a pleasure it has been to be your child’s Head of year during their time in the Sixth Form. I wish them the very best in their upcoming mock exams and in their next steps thereafter.
